Mornin’ folks! Hope everyone is enjoying the fact that the week is already (basically) 1/2 over! Last night I whipped up a quick meal using the einkorn pasta sample that we received at the Fitness & Health Bloggers Conference I attended in Boulder.

According to the people at Jovial Foods, the makers of the pasta we received, Einkorn is an “ancient grain” that has far higher nutrition stats than the typical whole wheat durum pasta popularly consumed. Einkorn even have naturally-occuring B-vitamins, something that is usually only found from animal sources!

The einkorn definitely takes longer than white or even regular wheat pasta to cook. Plus, you’ve probably heard me say that I like to overcook my whole wheat pasta to give it a closer consistency to the white stuff, so that happened too. While that was simmering away, I whipped a high-protein sauce to go along with it:

TJ’s mushroom spaghetti sauce, ground turkey breast, peas, edamame, corn, and kale!

This was one of my finest pantry/freezer emptying dishes. Toss it all in, see what comes out, right? And what came out was pretty tasty.

And pretty pretty, too! 🙂 The rest of my night was spent configuring this little dohicky:

My new external hard drive! It’s so tiny, I still can’t really believe it. An entire terrabyte of space in the palm of my hand — literally! I moved ALL of my pictures from my ‘pooter onto this little guy because my poor dying MacBook was about 3 gigs away from being completely filled to the brim with high resolution gloriousness.
All right, all right, I know you’re all frothing at the mouth to hear who the winner of the EatSmart Precision Plus Scale giveaway was, so without further adieu, here we go!
(Drumroll, please…)
Congratulations, Dan! (For the sake of not being totally sketch-tastic, I should let you know that Dan happens to be my brother-in-law, but I *SWEAR* that this was a totally random pick – the screenshot above is proof!)
Sorry to those of you who didn’t win, but blame it on the plug-in. 😉 Hopefully there will be some more fun giveaways coming up in the near future, so fret not. You day may yet come! And as long as you’re not totally ticked off from not winning, I still could use your help.
The amazing Bailey Doehler has been working with me to design a new logo for this here blog. Bailey helped Anne with her logo and header, and after seeing her work I snatched her up. I found out that we have a lot in common, and she has a weight loss blog as well! She has been super patient with my indecision and waffley-ness, so now I’m counting on that patience while I ask for your help. I’m totally stuck on being able to choose a font style and would LOVE your input!

Cast your vote for logo option 1, 2, or 3! And if you have any other comments, ideas, or whatever, I’d love to hear them too! My thoughts are to replace the current header with some version of this logo plus a few photos that represent my blog, oh, just a little bit better than Daxter’s feet and a dog food container. 😉
Can’t wait to hear your thoughts!

I like #2
The green doesn’t look neon on the computer at all- must be a weird thing with the iPhone. I still like #2 because I like the “shrunk” being in black to pop it a bit. All of them are totally cute!
Yeah, I noticed that too after Anne said it didn’t look neon to her. Must be the iPhone screen then. Cause on here, it seems like it matches pretty well, don’t you think?
You made the Eikorn Pasta! Looks good. 🙂
I like 3 best, but my second choice would be 2. I’m excited to see how it turns out!
I kinda like the font in #3, too! But #2 seems to be the popular choice based on feedback I’m getting so far. Exciting though…!
Definitely #1.
Because the eye tends to group words with like colors together and the black pops more than the green, I read the second two as “Shrunk Gretchen. Honey, I the”. If you like the font choice on #2, you could probably even solve the problem by changing the “shrunk” to the green instead of black.
I do like the thicker brackets on #2 + #3.
And you have to have two puppies instead of just one! 😀
Probably more feedback than you were looking for. My “day job” is as a designer. 😛
No! Your feedback is great! I mean, I dunno, maybe I can pull out a whole “Yoda” vibe off of those second two options, eh? “Pounds lost, were there. Time to weigh-in, it is.”
I think it could work. 😉
#2 is my pick!
I prefer the font in #1 and #2 but in #1 it seems a bit redundant that the word “shrink” is in brackets when it’s the same green color…but #1 was my quick pick which should say something.
#2!
Definitely #2, though I wouldn’t be opposed to changing the word “shrunk” to green. Two puppies!!!!!!!
I seem to be alone here but I like option #3!
I like three too! I like the font more in three, #2 is my second choice.
my vote is for #2. I love the puppy profile 🙂
#2 – love it! and can i just mention again that i love the name of your blog? so clever!
#2 or #3. Really like the font on the 3rd one, just seems too bold (if that makes sense?)
#2!!!
I like #2. With one, the [shrunk] is hard to read and I like the color contrast in 2 and 3, but I think the font in #2 fits you better 🙂 Just my two cents…
Another vote for #2!
I love #2 just as it is. The font, color and everything are too cute!
2! 🙂
I concur with other comments – I vote for 2!
I like number 1 the best’
I like #1!
My vote’s for #2 also!
#3, though I really like the current design (I am boooooring, I know ;))
#2 Just the way it is.
i vote #2 and u should include both dogs so one doesnt feel excluded 🙂
I like #2! I just came across your website after googling Greek yogurt and I absolutly love it and will be following your progress in hopes that I can make the same:)
Thanks Amber! I hope not to disappoint. 🙂 And believe me, if *I* can do it, as I am pretty much convinced I’m the laziest person on the face of the earth, ANYBODY can do this! 😀
I like #2! I came across your website after googling Greek yogurt and I am following your progress in hopes that I have some of my own:)
my vote is for #2…although, i really like your current logo!!
I think it’s a tie between 1 and 2 – leaning towards 2!
Definitely either 2 or 3. I’ll go ahead and say 2. 🙂 super cute!
I’m between 1 or 2! I like them both. 🙂
#2 FTW! 😉
I like #2 or #3, but all of them are awesome!
I like the font in number 2 the best 🙂
I must be a lemming because #2 is my fave. I like the {shrunk} in black AND I prefer the cursive font you chose for #2.
I like #2.
I like #2. I do like the font in #3 for the top line but maybe try it without the bold?
#3!!!
2!
2!
2!!
I like 2. I think the font in 3 is too bold and would be hard on the eyes…or at least my eyes. 🙂
I like 2. 🙂
