Happy Fourth!

Happy Fourth of July, everyone! And I suppose I should wish a big “Happy Birthday!” to America while I’m at it, eh? 🙂

In celebration of this day, I put on my most patriotic outfit, which I quickly realized I will not ACTUALLY be wearing today because I cannot fathom the thought of going through the heat in a cardigan of all things.

Today I’ll be partaking in some of the best Independence Day festivities that our nation’s capital has to offer, before slinking back to Falls Church to see my brother’s band perform and watch the fireworks. Have a wonderful Fourth!

I know it was in jest, but as a Canadian I have to say I cringe everytime somebody writes that we live in a frozen wasteland. I am from the Ottawa area, and grew up outside Toronto and I assure you and your readers that neither place is a frozen wasteland, except maybe in the middle of January…. as a matter of fact it was hot as heck over Canada Day Weekend (like in the high 90s) and this heat wave comtinued well past the 4th!

    • Oh, I know it definitely is, and I certainly didn’t mean to offend! I lived in Ottawa for four years so I am well-aware of what it’s like to be as red as the flag come Canada Day — and not because of my face paint, but because of the heat in my cheeks!
