Warning: You may at some point during this post go into cuteness overload. Symptoms may include: cooing, scrunching of the face, speaking in baby-talk, and an incredible urge to touch soft things.

But before we get to the overwhelming adorableness that is my sister and her husband’s new puppy (!!), let’s finish up the rest of the non-food related weekend, shall we?

I got to spend some time at the pool! Hooray! As you all know, I spent most of the weekend in Delaware visiting Steve for an early birthday celebration.

So we spent Saturday afternoon at his uncle’s super nice pool…

Aaaaand so did the pups. Bahahaha!

Now hold on, before you go on thinking that I’m a cruel, cruel dog owner (which, let’s face it, we all know just isn’t true.) Let me just preface this by saying that we weren’t risking their lives, we were just helping them broaden their horizons by giving them their first (and considering how much they hated it, probably their last) swimming lesson. Let the hilarity ensue:

See? No harm done other than a lot of post-pool shaking and wriggling. Well, to the dogs, at least. But to me, the experience was totally worth the ten bazillion scratches I have on my neck and shoulders now, hahaha.

And yes, this weekend’s pool trip also included another attempt to build up my bank of bikini confidence. I struggled with whether or not I wanted to post the following pic, but I’m sucking it up and going for it. After all, despite the misleading number of posts that center around my dogs, this really is supposed to be a weight loss blog, right? I figure that A) I really need to try to tie this post in at least SOMEWHAT to what my blog is about, and B) everybody get stomach rolls when they sit, right? RIGHT?!!?

So, the confidence is slowly coming. And even though I obviously still have a little ways to go yet, I strengthen my resolve that I really am going to get there this time. After all, just yesterday I was brought a little closer!

And now, to help you forget about having seen the above-posted flubbery, enjoy the following photo smΓΆrgΓ₯sbord (yep, that just happened) of Harry & Daxter’s new little cousin: Oreo!

Isn’t he adorable?! He’s a schnauzer-lab (schlabrador? Ha!) mix. So even though I was clearly HIGHLY-affronted that they didn’t go full-schnauzie (I don’t know if you could tell, but I kinda dig this breed), I think he is a perfect compromise for my sister, who loved the size and temperament of my babies, and her hubs, who is a manly, lab-owning kinda guy. We went up to Columbia Sunday night for Father’s Day dinner and to meet the little guy!

It took a second for Harry & Daxter to warm up to Oreo at first…

IMG_9008.jpgWhat is that?

But eventually they were comfortable enough to play with him (Daxter) or moderately ignore him (Harry), hahaha:

Much to my mother’s delight:

And my father’s indifference:

Hahahaha. Puppies everywhere! But don’t worry boys, you’re still #1 for me:

  1. Awwww that puppy is too adorable!
I just had a dream last night that I got a new pug puppy and a boston terrier puppy. When I woke up I was pretty disappointed that I wasn’t surrounded by puppies. Actually, to be honest, I was disappointed that I woke up 40 minutes late…but after that I thought about the puppy dream.

Oh and that swimsuit looks awesome on you. Not many people can pull off one of those bandeau tops. HAWT!

    • Hahahaha, aww man, waking up from an amazing dream only to be late? I know that feeling VERY WELL. And it’s the worst. But maybe one day you can turn your smooshy-faced-puppy dream into a reality…? πŸ˜€

  2. OMG you’re right cuteness overload! I love a schnauzer, so that made my day and they’re all adorable. And so are you and your parents! Love your bathing suit and your fab self in it!

  3. Cute puppy! You look great by the way, I wish I had your bathing suit confidence (maybe next year).

    • Ha! I’m still just faking it at this point. So I say, fake it ’til you make it! Cause that’s what I am trying to do… πŸ™‚

  4. As you would say, Gretcho: “totes adorbs.”

    • Totes. πŸ˜‰ And as you can see from the comment below, I’m not the only one who makes these kinds of sweet, sweet, hated-by-Panda abbrevs happen…

  5. Awwww!!!!!!! So many adorbs puppy pics! And girl, you are ROCKING that bathing suit! Love it!

  6. Jen Robinsonsays:

    1) You look fab in that polka dot swimsuit and I’m proud of you for having the confidence to post those pics (although, let’s admit it, that pic of your arms is HOTNESS!
    2) I am now officially obsessed with my puppy and totally “get” why owners are always gushing over their pupsters. Now that is meeeee!!!

    • See? It takes one to know one, literally. You’ll be shopping exclusively at Harry Barker before you know it too… πŸ˜‰

  7. The dogs are adorable, but I have to say…you look FANTASTIC! The yellow on you is a great color and I have yet to meet anyone who doesn’t have some type of roll happening when they sit down. Its gravity really. πŸ˜‰

Way to get the confidence back!

  8. that puppy is adorable !how cute! And love the suit and Im sure you look awesome in it!

  9. Michaelasays:

aaaawwwwwww, that puppy is super cute!!
and yes, like, totally YES- everybody get stomach rolls, even the really skinny girls πŸ™‚ I find it very satisfying πŸ˜‰

  10. Too much cuteness for one post! I am currently obsessed with getting a puppy and this just fueled the obsession even more!

  11. umm … I’m pretty sure everyone has rolls when they sit πŸ™‚

btw … you look great! I love that bikini.

  12. Schlabrador?! I don’t know why, but that word really made me laugh out loud. Thank goodness I’m at home and not in public. Oreo is such a cutie!

  13. I’m sitting here at Starbucks grinning for ear to ear—hooray for the four legged friends!!! I love the dogs in the pool and new puppy Oreo!!! Lincoln hates the pool and was not happy when I tried to put him in a raft. Instead, he jumped out and swam to the other end of the pool then climbed himself out. Good to know he can swim!!

PS=Swimsuit is adorable, you go girl!

    • Yeah, I figure that at least now I’m confident that if they ever did fall out of a boat they wouldn’t immediately sink! Hahaha

  14. AND the zoo grows on πŸ™‚

  15. Gordon Lsays:

I really do not understand what the fuss is about. Personally I do notice stretch marks from a woman having been pregnant but they always bring a smile to my face.
